A 401(k) might *feel* like a bailout, but using it to pay off debt is usually a bad move.

401(k) loans aren’t always available, and if they are, you’re interrupting the long-term growth that makes retirement accounts so powerful. Same goes for a hardship withdrawal.

Even worse, it doesn’t fix the root problem. Debt can come right back.

If you separate from your job for any reason, that 401(k) loan could come due fast and be taxed if unpaid.

Your 401(k) is for your future. Don't rob your future self of your shield.

A dear friend retired at 61. From the outside, it looks like luck.

What you didn’t see:
The debt she battled years ago.
The stress, setbacks, hard choices, and prayers.
The discipline it took to change course.

For 20 years, she and her husband stayed laser focused on one goal: retiring by the coast. They paid off debt, stayed consistent, and kept moving forward, one decision at a time.

They still lived their lives, but never lost sight of the bigger picture.
