Valentine’s Day marks a meaningful day in our family’s history, and this year it also marks a special milestone for our firm.

Fifty years ago on Valentine’s Day, my parents began their marriage, and later that same year, my father founded Pendleton Financial. Both were built on the same principles, commitment, trust, loyalty, and showing up day after day.

What makes this anniversary especially meaningful is that he remains actively involved in the business, still serving clients with the same care, consistency, and dedication that defined the firm from the beginning. Decades later, that commitment hasn’t changed.

His loyalty to clients, and the example he and my mother set through 50 years of marriage, are a big part of why this firm has endured, and why so many client relationships have lasted for generations.

As we look ahead, those same values will continue to guide Pendleton Financial as we serve clients for the next generation and beyond.

Congratulations to my parents on 50 years of marriage, and to our founder on 50 years of service, integrity, and trust. We’re proud to carry that legacy forward. 💗

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a time to recognize the strength, courage, and resilience of those impacted by breast cancer, including members of our own team and many of the clients we serve.

This month, we’re supporting the work of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, which provides early detection, education, and support services for those impacted by breast cancer.

Let’s keep the conversation going, because awareness saves lives.

Today, we join in honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

One of our Native American clients, a proud member of the Mohegan Tribe, shared a powerful post this morning. With gratitude and respect, we’re sharing the same image here to honor their voice and experience.

As a firm that walks alongside individuals and families through every chapter of life, this day calls us to pause, listen more deeply, and lead with greater awareness and respect. This is a moment to reflect on the history, heritage, and enduring contributions of Native communities.

Legacy isn’t just about wealth. It’s about values, stewardship, and how we care for one another, and this land, for generations to come.

We also recognize that today is also Columbus Day, which is a day to remember the discrimination that Italians have also faced in this country, including the massacre of 11 Italians in New Orleans in 1891. We concurrently honor the contributions of Italian-Americans as well as those we honor today through Indigenous Peoples Day. Love, pride and respect do not have to be mutually exclusive.

In honor of Mental Illness Awareness Week and World Mental Health Day, we’re reflecting on how mental and financial wellness are deeply connected.

Recently, we attended WakeMed’s “Destigmatizing Mental Health” event and committed our support to the new mental health hospital they’re building right here in our community.

We were inspired by Dr. Micah Krempasky’s vision and by the influence of programs like CooperRiis, which continue to raise the standard for compassionate care.

At Pendleton Financial, we’re proud to support this effort, because real wellness means feeling safe, supported, and seen in all aspects of life.

📣 Deaf Awareness Month & Aileen’s Story 💪

🍂 Today marks the first day of fall! A season of reflection, renewal, and deeper connection is upon us. This year, we’re honoring that spirit by spotlighting communities and causes that matter to us. We’re proud to start this new chapter with Deaf Awareness Month. 🤟🦻💙

We’d like to share the story of Aileen Santer, the daughter of one of our team members. Aileen was born with congenital CMV (Cytomegalovirus), a common yet often underrecognized cause of non-genetic hearing loss in children. Her journey is a powerful reminder that hearing differences can come from places we don’t expect, and that awareness can lead to earlier diagnosis, support, and advocacy.
