IRS for 2024 and going forward

The paperless processing initiative will eliminate up to 200 million pieces of paper annually. For filing season 2024, 94% of taxpayers will no longer need to mail key items. By filing season 2025, the IRS will digitally process tax returns, including paper-filed tax and information returns. This will cut paper processing times in half and help speed refunds.
