Brother, why do you talk about God like He’s stingy?

Like He’s reluctant to bless?
Like He rolls His eyes when you ask for help?
Like He says, "Gosh. This guy again?" when you pray to Him?
Like you’ve got to twist His arm to provide for your family or open doors for your future?

You say He’s a good Father, so why do you assume His blessings are reserved for others?

Why do you call it "selfish" to pray for your daily bread, or for your family to thrive?

Why do you flinch when things go well, like you’re not sure it’ll last?

You know the truth:
He delights in giving good gifts to His children.
You don’t have to earn it.
You just have to ask.
He gives freely.

So why don’t you believe that?

..Honestly?

Because sometimes I don’t.
Because this whole time, I wasn’t talking to you.
I was talking to myself.

04/24/2025

I used to replay my worst money decisions like a highlight reel.

Not the wins.
The missed opportunities.
The foolish buys.
The moments I ignored wisdom because I was chasing comfort, status, or control.

I’d lay in bed and hear the whisper:
"You should’ve known better."

And maybe I should have.
But shame isn’t a fruit of the Spirit.

Eventually, I had to come to terms with this:
I can’t steward yesterday.
But I can steward today.

And that’s not a downgrade.
That’s the assignment.

God doesn’t hold me hostage to my history.
He invites me to walk in wisdom—right now.

Ephesians 5:15 says,
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity…”

That’s not just a verse for the well-behaved.
It’s a word of hope for the repentant.

Because the enemy accuses.
But the Father redeems.

So if you’re carrying guilt over what you should have done—I get it.

I’ve made plenty of those mistakes too.

But here’s what I know:
Faithfulness today softens the sting of yesterday.
And there’s more faithfulness ahead than failure behind.

If you’re ready to forgive yourself for your past and build a plan that reflects that truth, I’m here.

04/23/2025

I didn’t say God was stingy.
But I sure lived like He might be.

For years, I lived with a low-grade fear that there wouldn’t be enough.

Enough money.
Enough margin.
Enough provision.

It didn’t always show up in my spreadsheets.
It showed up in my heart.

A fear of not having enough is ultimately a fear that God won’t come through.

That He’s holding out on me.
That I have to fend for myself.
That generosity is risky… because supply is limited.

That’s not a math problem.
That’s a trust problem.

And the only thing that ever shifted it was this:
God is good. (Ps. 136:1)
God is generous. (Jas. 1:17)
God has good planned for me. (Ro. 8:28)
He is a Father who delights to give good gifts to His children. (Mt. 7:11)

Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Mt. 6:33)

That’s not a formula.
It’s a promise.

When I started living like that promise was true—not just as a nice line in a sermon, but something to apply to my life—everything changed.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want," stopped being just a memory verse.

I stopped clinging.
I started stewarding.
Not in fear. In faith.

So if you’re stuck in scarcity thinking, I won’t judge you.

I’ve been there.

But I will say this:
freedom begins when you start trusting the Giver more than the gift.

If you’re ready to break free from scarcity and build a biblical plan rooted in trust, let’s talk.

Easter shows us that the power of Death is shattered in the Resurrection.

Not just physical death.
But generational sin.
Hidden shame.
Lifelong regret.

When Jesus walked out of the tomb,
He didn’t just conquer the grave.
He crushed every claim the Enemy had on your story.

I was born into a legacy of addiction, anger, and sin.
But the resurrection rewrote my inheritance.

By God’s grace, I’m raising four children in a new kind of home—
One built on Scripture, not silence.
One where money isn’t a master—Jesus is.
One where we don’t just pass down wealth…
We pass down redemption.

Because Easter isn’t just theology.
It’s permission to start over.
It’s power to build something new.

If you’re managing what God’s entrusted to you,
and you feel stuck between fear and faith—

Remember:
The tomb is empty.
The curse is broken.
Your story is not finished.

Saturday was silent.

No miracles.
No answers.
No sign of victory.

Just grief.
Confusion.
Waiting.

For the disciples, that Saturday must have felt like a cosmic letdown.
The Messiah was dead.
The sky had gone dark.
And heaven… was quiet.

But silence wasn’t the end of the story.

It never is.

I remember a sermon I heard back in college:
“Everyone wants a Damascus Road experience…
but no one wants to go where that road leads.”

Because after the blinding light, Paul didn’t get a global platform.
He got obscurity.
Study.
Arabia.

God took him off the map before He put him on mission.

And I meet a lot of Christians who are in a “Saturday season” right now.

They’re building in the dark.
Obeying without applause.
Sacrificing without celebration.

No big platform.
No viral testimony.
Just faith.

But here’s what I remind them:

Silence is often the soil of glory.
And joy always comes in the morning.

If you’re in that quiet stretch right now—
Keep going.

Resurrection doesn’t need a microphone.
It only needs a tomb and a timetable.

The problem with Dave Ramsey is....

Not that he gives bad advice.

His advice has helped millions get out of debt.
The baby steps work.

No. The problem isn't Dave's content.

It's his starting point.

Dave starts with experience (What has worked for thousands).
I start with Scripture (What God has commanded for eternity).

When we build financial plans on personal experience alone, even good experience, we risk building toward worldly success rather than kingdom impact.

Emergency funds are biblical (Proverbs 21:20).
Avoiding debt is biblical (Romans 13:8).

But these are means, not ends.

The end goal isn't financial peace.
It's faithful stewardship.

Financial peace can become an idol if we're not careful.
Faithful stewardship leads to eternal impact.

I've seen the difference when people shift their perspective from "How can I secure my future?" to "How can my resources advance God's kingdom?"

Their giving becomes more joyful.
Their spending becomes more intentional.
Their legacy becomes more than money – it becomes eternal.

Don't just follow principles that work.
Follow commandments that transform.

The Untold Secret To Mastering Financial Stewardship In Just 3 Days

"I'll figure it out myself" might be the most expensive sentence in business.

Recently, a business owner named James finally reached out after following me for months. His DIY approach had left him with:

→ Messy books despite using QuickBooks
→ Commingled business/personal accounts
→ An expensive tax situation
→ Zero retirement planning

All because he believed avoiding professional help was "good stewardship."

Here's the untold secret James discovered:

True biblical stewardship isn't doing everything yourself to save as much money as possible, it's building a team of professionals who multiply what God has entrusted to you.

His 3-day transformation:
Day 1: Acknowledging Proverbs 15:22 - "Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed." James realized his DIY approach was actually poor stewardship.

Day 2: Assembled his stewardship team:
• A bookkeeper to organize his finances
• An accountant for tax strategy
• An attorney (not LegalZoom) for proper business structure
• A business coach for growth planning
• A financial advisor (me) to coordinate it all

Day 3: Implementing biblical delegation, following Moses' example in Exodus 18.

The results? Within weeks:
→ $9,800 in tax savings
→ Control over his business cash flow
→ Separated his business and personal assets
→ First-ever generosity plan (it's amazing how proactive you can be with a little advice)
→ 15 fewer work hours per week
→ Vacation: Planned and scheduled

Scripture consistently shows godly leaders delegating to experts. Moses had judges, David had advisors, Solomon had builders, and even Jesus sent disciples in pairs.

Are you struggling with "stewardship by DIY" too? Ask yourself:
• What's the real cost of not having professional counsel?
• What Kingdom opportunities am I missing by trying to do everything myself?

I'd love to see your DIY horror story in the comments below! 👇

April 15: The IRS wants your attention.

So does Jesus.

On this exact day of Holy Week—what we now call Holy Tuesday—Jesus was approached by Pharisees and Herodians, trying to trap Him with a question about taxes.

“Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

Holding up a Roman coin, He replied:
“Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s… and to God what is God’s.”

It was a mic drop moment.

But we forget:
He didn’t just talk about giving to Caesar.
He called us to recognize what belongs to God.

And if “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof” (Psalm 24:1),
that includes your entire portfolio.

Not just the tithe.
Not just your charitable giving.
All of it.

So today, as you render unto Caesar, ask the harder question:

Have I rendered unto God what is God’s?

Because Uncle Sam demands a portion.
But God lays claim to the whole.

If you’re not sure how to honor Him with your wealth—without overpaying Caesar in the process—I’ve got something that can help.

The day I left full-time ministry, I was worried I was abandoning my calling...

God's gentle reminder through His Word changed everything about how I view work, purpose, and financial stewardship.

I still remember packing up my office at the church.

After years of sermons, counseling sessions, and community outreach, I was stepping away from pastoral ministry to become a financial advisor.

The doubt was crushing.

"Am I walking away from God's purpose for my life?"
"Have I wasted my theological training?"
"What will my congregation think?"
"Am I disobeying God?"

These questions gnawed at me as I placed my commentaries in boxes.

That night, I opened my Bible to 1 Corinthians 10:31: "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

This half-forgotten truth washed over me like the smell of pumpkin pie—itself a very good and spiritual thing 😁—there is no such thing as "sacred" versus "secular" work.

It's all sacred.

The artificial divide we create between Sunday worship and Monday work isn't biblical.

All of Christ is for all of life.

God doesn't just care about what happens in church buildings. He cares about boardrooms, living rooms, and financial planning sessions too.

This reminder transformed my perspective completely.

I realized managing money isn't less spiritual than preaching sermons (though I miss preaching terribly). It's just a different arena to glorify God and serve His people.

Instead of seeing my transition as stepping away from ministry, I recognized I was stepping into a new kind of ministry where I could help God's people steward His resources wisely (and help fix one of the biggest problems I saw in their lives).

This is the pain point I see constantly in Christian professionals: they compartmentalize their faith and their vocation, missing the opportunity to view their work as worship.

Your job isn't just a way to pay bills or fund the "real ministry" at church. Your daily work—whatever it is—can be a holy calling if done for God's glory.

If you've been struggling with this divide between your faith and finances, I'd love to help you discover the joy of seeing your financial stewardship as a genuine act of worship.

Most financial advisors won’t say this, but as a Christian, your financial plan is missing something critical.

Traditional advisors focus on growing your assets and reducing your taxes and that’s fine.

But if your plan stops there, you’re missing the bigger picture.

As a follower of Christ, your finances should be about more than just you.

God calls us to stewardship, generosity, and legacy-building that furthers His Kingdom.

Yet, many advisors skip over these deeper values because they don’t understand what it means to honor God with your wealth.

So, you end up with a ‘good plan’ that doesn’t align with your faith. And that’s a problem.

If you want a plan that truly reflects your values, you need to start with this question:

"How can my finances serve God’s mission while still protecting my family?"

That’s the foundation of biblical wealth management.

Follow for faith-based financial insights or DM me ‘KINGDOM’ for a free chat where I'll give you tips specific to you for aligning your wealth with God’s purpose.

It’s time to go beyond traditional advice and align your wealth with God’s purpose.

Because aligning your actions to your purpose is like becoming UI Goku-- attacks don't hit you like they used to and all that matters is the goal.
