SB 24-053, Racial Equity Study, has passed through the Senate and is headed to the House. I’m sponsoring the bill with Senator James Coleman and State Representative Naquetta Ricks HD 40.

The bill creates the Black Coloradan Racial Equity Study Commission, to report the impacts of injustices faced by Black Coloradans in K12 education, higher education, workforce training, housing, criminal justice, health care, tax policy, and access to asset and wealth building. After the study is completed, the bill requires implementation of the recommendations from the report.
