I recently went on a road trip with my family to go and visit my brother in MO. We went pretty cheap and camped in a tent a few nights but we had saved up and it made the whole trip really stress free. We were able to eat out and do activities and stay a night in a very cool Airbnb in Nauvoo, without worrying about how much it cost.

One of the things that we have done with our budget that have made a huge difference is creating sinking funds.

A sinking find is usually for someone that is a little bigger but not regular. For example Christmas is something that people spend a lot of money on but only happens once a year.

We created a singing fun for gifts that we put money into every month and then we can use it for birthdays or Christmas or any other gifts that we need throughout the year. It took so much stress out of the holidays because we already had money set aside for it.

Other common sinking funds are things like car repairs or replacement, home repairs, we even have one set up for vacations.
