Please spread the word so that we get as high of a turnout as possible on May 14th. Remember to do your research and vote for everything that is actually for your communities' good. Too many think that their vote won't make a difference, but it absolutely does. It does even if your side is expected to win in a landslide. Voting is one of the most important responsibilities we have. We have it in our power to fix all of our problems, just need to be involved.

💬…..It's time to rethink the way we finance our schools and guarantee that every dollar is allocated efficiently to support our students. While fundraising has traditionally played a vital role in generating crucial funds for schools, let's elevate our approach.

Rather than depending on intermediaries and bureaucratic processes that can diminish the impact of funds, let's eliminate unnecessary middlemen and direct our support straight to the heart of the matter: our schools.

Transparency in government spending is not just a matter of principle; it's a cornerstone of democracy that fosters accountability and trust. It is easy to say that “it’s for the kids” but you must actually DO it and be able to prove that you did.

☝🏼 The recent levy vote in 2019 highlighted something very concerning: voter turnout was shockingly low, hovering around 10-15%. This lack of engagement raises serious questions about the legitimacy and representativeness of the outcome.

It's clear that the government failed to effectively communicate the importance of this vote to the community. When critical decisions are made with such little input from the people they affect, it undermines the very principles of democracy. Every voice matters in a democracy. A vote with minimal voter turnout does not accurately reflect the will of the community and can lead to decisions that do not represent the best interests of the majority.

To safeguard the integrity of important votes like levy decisions, we propose a rule that enforces a minimum voter turnout threshold. Votes with insufficient turnout should not hold water, and decisions should be deferred until adequate participation is achieved. 🗳️

🗣️🚨For six decades, our county has relied on the same levy to fund public services and education. Yet, despite our best efforts, we've witnessed a steady decline in population year after year. It's time for a change.

The reality is that our community cannot thrive if our population continues to dwindle. We need bold, innovative solutions to reverse this trend and breathe new life into our county.
