One of our clients sent this to me today.
The answer is no. No matter how much you love you fur babies, no matter how much money you spend on them. Ask the same question over and over and it’s the same answer no. Just because you watch your grandkids after they come home from school; or you buy their school clothes or you buy their school supplies. They are still not your dependant. They must live with you more than six months out of the year and you provide more than half of their expenses, and then you must be the highest AGI. Still there a tiebreaker rules that must come into play. So no your fur baby is not your dependent. Or any of the above situations. Document, document, document, is your name on their school records? Is your name on their medical records as the person to call, is your name on their social service documents?
