This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy today will never be forgotten.

At Rebel Tax & Accounting LLC, we are deeply grateful to all who have served — and especially to those who gave everything for this nation.

As part of our commitment to giving back, Rebel Tax & Accounting proudly donates 10% of collected fees to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, supporting our nation’s heroes and their families.

Today is about remembrance, gratitude, and honoring those who never made it home. 🇺🇸

Some moments just hit differently.

Today we received a personal message from the Tunnel to Towers Foundation thanking Rebel Tax and Accounting LLC for supporting their mission — including an invitation to attend the Steel Across America Tour stop at West Point this September.

Honestly, that means a lot to us.

This business was never meant to just be about numbers. From day one, Gina and I wanted Rebel Tax and Accounting to stand for something bigger. That’s why we donate 10% of collected fees to Tunnel to Towers.

Supporting America’s heroes, first responders, veterans, and their families is something we deeply believe in.

Very grateful for the recognition, and even more grateful to be in a position where our business can give back.

💡 Tax Tip: The “Big Refund” Myth

Sorry, its been a while. Busy season.

A lot of people say they love getting a big tax refund at the end of the year. It feels like a bonus—but here’s the reality:

That refund is your own money… and you’ve been letting the government hold onto it all year interest-free.

Think about it:

- Every extra dollar withheld from your paycheck is money you could’ve used monthly
- You could be paying down debt, investing, or simply improving cash flow
- Instead, it sits with the IRS earning you zero

A tax refund isn’t a reward—it’s usually a sign you’ve overpaid throughout the year.

👉 A better strategy: aim to break even or owe a small amount at tax time. That means you kept more of your money working for you during the year.

If you like the forced savings aspect, that’s valid—but there are smarter ways to do it that actually earn you money.

Bottom line: Don’t let the size of your refund fool you. Focus on keeping control of your cash all year long.

Tax Tip of the Week:

A large refund isn’t always a win.
It often means you gave the IRS an interest-free loan all year.

Consider reviewing:
• Your W-4 withholding
• Estimated tax payments
• Recent life changes (marriage, children, side income)

Better cash flow beats a surprise refund.

Tax Tip 💰:

Even the IRS, an organization with the legal power to seize your money, gives you notice, documentation, and a chance to explain yourself before taking action. They don’t act on rumors, feelings, or cowardly snap judgments. They gather facts, hear your side, and then decide.
If the IRS can manage due process, there’s really no excuse for anyone else not to.

The IRS will never call you. They will always send a letter. Respond and cooperate. As tough an agency as they may be, they do the right thing, unlike some other organizations.

Tax Tip:
You can give something everything you’ve got and still watch it implode overnight. The IRS couldn’t care less. 🔥
Blood, sweat, and sleepless nights don’t equal deductions. Intent doesn’t matter. Hard work isn’t a tax strategy.
No plan, no structure, no documentation? Then the loss is yours—not the government’s.

Tax Tip of the Week 💡
Refund ≠ Free Money.
A big refund usually means you overpaid the IRS all year. That’s your money sitting interest-free with the government. If your life has changed (new job, side income, kids aging out, divorce, etc.), update your W-4 so your withholding matches reality.
The IRS doesn’t care about intentions or feelings—only facts and numbers. Get those right, and the tax result follows.

Tax Tip of the Week:
When it comes to taxes, the IRS doesn’t care about feelings—only facts 📄. Good intentions, honest mistakes, or frustration with the rules won’t override documentation, deadlines, and the tax law itself. The same is true for any well-run organization: decisions must be based on facts, not emotions.
Keep good records, meet deadlines, and let the facts work in your favor.
