The Department of the Treasury and IRS have announced the tax filing and payment deadline of July 15 will not be postponed. Individual taxpayers unable to meet the July 15 due date can request an automatic extension of time to file until Oct. 15.

We are still open all our regular hours during this time of quarantine and social distancing. Both West Virginia and Ohio have affirmed that we provide essential services. And if we are preparing your paycheck or are assisting you with filing your tax return so that you can get your tax refund processed, I’m sure you would agree 🙂. However, we are trying to do our part to be cautious and responsible, so we are working essentially with half staff, working on alternating days. We are continuously wiping surfaces, and cleaning and sanitizing to try to reduce risk. We are happy to meet you at your car so you don’t have to come in if you prefer. Stay healthy and well, and please contact us with any questions or concerns.!

A large tax refund may sound nice, but do you realize that the larger the refund, the more money you have let the government "borrow" from you (interest free) for the past year? Even worse, some places will even let you pay them money to "borrow back" your own money (e.g., refund anticipation loans). There is a better way, to either keep more money in YOUR pocket during the year, or provide you FREE access to your own cash, any time you want it (you don't have to wait to have your tax return done and then pay them to borrow back your own money). This is not smoke and mirrors, just good money management. Let us know if we can be of service. We look forward to working with you!
