We are incredibly proud to celebrate Brianna Hogan on officially earning her CFP® certification!
Becoming a CFP® professional is a major career milestone. The designation requires extensive education, thousands of hours of professional experience, a rigorous comprehensive exam, and a commitment to high ethical and professional standards. It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to get there, and we had a front-row seat to just how much time, focus, and hard work Brianna put into earning those four letters.
And here’s a stat that makes this accomplishment even more impressive: there are more CFP® professionals over the age of 70 than there are under the age of 30. Brianna is part of the next generation earning one of the most respected credentials in financial planning, and we could not be more excited for her.
After all that studying and hard work, some celebrating was definitely in order. Brianna traded the books for a trip to Arizona and then a cruise, and we’d say both were very well deserved!
Brianna, we are SO proud of you. Congratulations on officially becoming a CFP® professional!

You spend decades saving for retirement. Eventually, the question changes from “How much can I accumulate?” to “How do I make what I’ve built last?”

That shift brings a different set of considerations. Creating sustainable income, planning for healthcare costs, navigating market changes, accounting for taxes, and determining how much you can comfortably spend all become part of the conversation.

National Retirement Security Month is a reminder to think beyond getting to retirement and start planning for the decades that may come after it.

Because the goal isn’t simply to retire. It’s to have the confidence and flexibility to keep living the life you planned for.

What if financial planning isn't really about retirement?
In our educational session this week, we explored a simple but powerful idea:

Financial planning is about creating options.
One case study featured a couple in their late 40s experiencing burnout. They wanted to know if they could take a five-year sabbatical, travel, spend more time together, and still stay on track financially.
Through planning, we found they could.

Another case study focused on a couple in their 30s who consistently save and invest about 30% of their income. Their goal isn't necessarily early retirement. It's having the freedom to choose a different path later in life, whether that's mission-driven work, more family time, reduced stress, or retiring early.

The common theme?

Financial independence isn't just about stopping work.

It's about having the flexibility to:

- Take a career break
- Change careers
- Spend more time with family
- Travel more
- Pursue a passion project
- Give back to causes you care about

The numbers matter. The analysis matters.

But the purpose behind the plan matters most.
