Here are some Important Dates for the 2023 Tax Season! If you have an S Corp, Domestic Partnership, Foreign Partnership or a Nonprofit Religious Organization, you are required to file your 1120S and 1065 tax returns by or before March 15th.... Contact your tax professional to file on time or request an extension to avoid penalties/fees.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Taxpayers please keep in mind that the new design of the W4 Federal Withholding Form reduces the form's complexity and increases the transparency and accuracy of the withholding system. It replaces complicated worksheets with more straightforward questions that make accurate withholding easier for employees.

What that means is that the IRS will withhold less taxes if you are indicating that you will have dependents to claim at the end of the year. It means you will see more of your pay with each paycheck.

If you enjoy a tax refund, then DO NOT claim those dependents on your W4 tax form. It may mean you will pay higher taxes throughout the year, essentially overpaying your taxes.

If you have other income, side business (1099 gig work), then consider that when selecting your W4 withholdings. It may not change anything for your 2022 tax season, but consider it for this current year. Make a more informed decision...

January 31 – Payroll taxes due

January 31 – 1099s must be delivered—Electronic filing may be REQUIRED

January 31 – W2s must be delivered—Electronic filing may be REQUIRED

January 31 – Wage reports are due
