Tax season is fast approaching again! The IRS will start accepting returns between January 24th-31st. I am booking appointments now. You may call to make an appointment or drop your tax papers off and I will complete them within a couple of days. I am still at the same office as last year and looking forward to working with you again for the 2021 tax season.
Please know that this year, you are REQUIRED to know how much you received in Advanced Child Tax Credit Payments as well as how much of the 3rd stimulus payment you received. If you were to guess at these figures and they are wrong, your refund can be held for up to 12 months. There are still people who have not received their 2020 refund. The IRS is supposed to be sending out Letter 6419 with the Advanced Child Tax Credit amounts and Letter 6475 reporting the stimulus you received. If you do not receive one, I highly recommend setting up an account with the IRS so that you can find these figures on your account.
Here’s how to get started for new users: Select View Your Account at www.IRS.gov homepage. Select the “Create or View Your Account” button. Click “Create Account” and follow the directions and provide the information requested.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a call!
