This exhibit showcases some of the most talented artists throughout the country and will feature TWO of the Silent Bonsai creations by our own Mark Reed. What good is a throwback Thursday without a look into what it's become. For those whom never saw the famed Chinese House of Park Forest prior to its 1991 transformation, here's a look at an identical model which provides a glimpse into the past of what the iconic home at the corner of Lincoln Highway and Orchard looked like.

Despite all of the urban legends about the creator of such a masterpiece being Asian, or wanting to provide his wife with a work of art similar to the Taj Mahal backstory, the origin story surrounding the Chinese House of Park Forest is more about a Southern Aristocrat's love affair with diversity, heritage and culture!

As Black History Month comes to a conclusion, let us all take a moment to acknowledge and realize that so much of American history is thread with contributions from migrants from all over this globe, and it's all BEAUTIFUL in its own right!

Thank you to the thousands of supporters of the Chinese House of Park Forest, whether you've ever texted, emailed, messaged, honked, stopped by or discussed it with your friends and neighbors. This home represents the power of individuality, creativity and a willingness to be DIFFERENT, and the creator encourages each and every one of you to EMBRACE what is unique and different about yourself!

The Village of Park Forest has a Property Tax Rate of 35.469
Come out to the South Holland Community Center on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 at 7pm and learn why Park Forest's Tax Rate is more than 250% HIGHER than Forest Park's, and what can be done to CHANGE this inequitable system of taxation.

Join us this Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 at 7pm at the South Holland Community Center for an explanation of "why the property taxes are so high in the Southern Suburbs of Chicago" and "what can be done to fix such disparity!"
