Pearson Construction has begun removing and replacing a portion of the street adjacent to QuikTrip on Jacksonville near 61st. The public will still be able to enter the South entrance to QT, but the North entrance and road will be blocked off. This does not impact access to Subway. There is a detour route marked with signage.

It is anticipated to take 2 weeks for improvements to be complete.

Park City Alive TOMORROW (Saturday)!

William Allen White and the K*K in Kansas
2/22 at 7pm at Park City Senior Center. Free event for all ages.

The 1920s saw the re-emergence of the Ku Klux Klan across America, and sparked fear and violence against African Americans and other minority groups. As the editor of the Emporia Gazette, White was acutely aware of the growing presence of the K*K in Kansas following World War I. Seeing no candidates free of Klan influence, White declared, “I want to be governor to free Kansas from the disgrace of the Ku Klux Klan.” This presentation follows the raucous two-month campaign that had White traveling over 2,700 miles to deliver 104 speeches, all directed at expelling the K*K. White’s efforts led to a Kansas Supreme Court ruling that outlawed the Klan in Kansas.

Presented by Beverley Olson Buller, sponsored by Park City Community Pride, made possible by Humanities Kansas. https://www.humanitieskansas.org/events =park-city-william-allen-white-and-the-kkk-in-kansas;instance=20250222190000?popup=1&lang=en-US
