Meet Bengal Tiger Corporate Member Bill Verhagen, Innovative Financial
Innovative Financial Solutions (IFS) started in Bloomington, Indiana as William Verhagen transitioned from working with a major Public Accounting firm into the Financial Services area. Bill’s primary focus was to establish a Financial Planning Firm that would educate the client and help position them to meet their financial objectives. Seeing a lack of fee based financial planning, Bill’s emphasis was to bring his analytic skills to the various areas that encompass a person’s financial life in business and personal matters.
Bill originally built a team of advisors focused on working with those in higher education and the pharmaceutical industry. In 2008, Bill and his wife, Pat moved to Palm Coast, Florida to assist a retiring friend and advisor. They were captivated by the area and decided to make it their new home. Today, the IFS client base has expanded to a diverse group of individuals and business owners in over 35 states served by seven advisors and five staff from two locations. Clients trust the firm to manage over eight hundred million of their investment funds. IFS has always sought to work with honest, family-oriented clients who are committed to their goals and value advice from trusted advisors.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Focus
From its inception, IFS owners minimized public advertising and instead directed those dollars toward community organizations. Locally, they support Flagler Habitat for Humanity, God’s Bathhouse, Feeding Northeast Florida and many other community organizations that assist individuals in meeting basic needs. As scripture notes, God blesses us to be a blessing to others.
Bill has had an interest in solar electric for some years and in developing his Palm Coast office complex off Colbert Lane installed 32 solar panels and a battery backup system at his office as well as installing the second EV charging stations in Flagler County.
FUN FACT
The most interesting fact that clients have noted about Bill through the years is his ability to write upside down and backwards at the conference table so the client sitting across the table can read from their perspective.
