We are a North Shore, Nassau County CPA firm looking for an accountant with 2-5 years of varied tax preparation experience, including the following responsibilities and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Accurately, efficiently, and thoroughly prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, estate, not-for-profit, and fiduciary tax returns of moderate complexity.
Prepare work papers and documentation, including (but not limited to) tax journal entries to the trial balance, book to tax journal entries, depreciation schedules.
Develop tax plans and projections for tax extensions.
Conduct research and stay abreast of latest regulatory changes in tax.
Provide assistance to peers and others when requested, including overseeing, reviewing work of staff.
Recognize extended to tax service opportunities for client and bring them to the attention to the Partners.

Qualifications:

B.S. in Accounting.
CPA certification or eligibility required.
2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an accounting firm.
Understanding of the complex requirements of returns for High Net Worth Individuals, S Corps, C Corps, partnerships.
Understand all aspects of an engagement.
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles (such as financial statements and journal entries) and tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve routine engagement principles
Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
Developed analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
Leadership capabilities
Ability to effectively articulate basic tax and business issues and their resolutions.
