A little afternoon pick-me-up for the Searcy Financial® team.

We had Andy’s Frozen Custard brought into the office and took some time away from our desks to enjoy a treat and, more importantly, each other’s company.

We’re big believers that strong teams are built in the moments between the meetings and to-do lists, too.

Good people, good conversation, and something sweet. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon!

For 50 years, we’ve had the privilege of helping individuals and families make thoughtful decisions about their financial lives. Recognition like this is a meaningful milestone, but what we value most are the relationships and trust that have allowed us to continue doing this work year after year.

Thank you to our clients, our team, and the Kansas City community for being part of the Searcy Financial® story. We appreciate all the support.

Years ago, a serious health event required the founder of Searcy Financial® to step away from the business for several months. While he focused on his health and family, his clients still needed guidance—and the rest of the team was there to provide it.

That experience shaped the way Marc thinks about continuity planning today.

For independent advisors, preparing for the unexpected isn’t only about protecting the business you’ve built. It’s about caring for the people who have trusted you to be there through some of life’s biggest decisions.

In his latest blog, Marc shares what advisors should consider when building a continuity plan and why the relationship behind that plan matters just as much as the agreement itself.

The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is preparation.

Having $5 million to invest can open many doors. It can also come with a lot of questions.

How much should stay accessible? How should it be invested? What about taxes, retirement, family, or the legacy you hope to leave behind?

The answer looks different for everyone because the money is only one part of the picture. What matters is what you want it to make possible.

In our latest blog, we explore some of the considerations that can help shape a thoughtful plan for significant wealth, and why the conversation should start with your life, not your portfolio.

Watching the market change can feel personal when it’s your money on the line.

That’s why having a plan and people who know you and understand what you’re working toward matters. When questions come up, you don’t have to navigate them alone.

You don’t have to ignore how market changes make you feel. You just don’t want that feeling making the decision for you.

Good pizza, great people, and one of our favorite annual traditions.

Each year, the Allos Investment Advisors® + Searcy Financial® Pizza Party brings together clients, friends, referral partners, and community leaders for an evening centered around connection and community.

This year, we were also able to turn that time together into something even more meaningful, raising more than $500 for Growing Futures Early Education Center. Growing Futures is especially close to Marc, who currently serves as President of the organization’s Board.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed, and made the evening such a great one. We’re incredibly grateful for the relationships and community that have grown around Allos Investment Advisors® and Searcy Financial®.
Until next year!

The end of the year can already feel full. Tax planning doesn’t need to become one more thing you’re rushing to figure out in the final days of December.

A thoughtful review now can give you time to ask questions, consider your options, and make sure your financial advisor and CPA are looking at the same picture.

Our latest blog covers several areas worth revisiting before year-end, including retirement accounts, charitable giving, portfolio considerations, and planning for business owners.

Because good planning isn’t about making every possible move. It’s about making the ones that make sense for you—with enough time to do them thoughtfully.

There’s a lot of life behind every financial decision.

A family you’re caring for. A career you’ve spent years building. People you want to help. A future you’re looking forward to.

As those pieces grow and change, sometimes what you need from your financial life changes, too.

Having the right support isn’t just about managing money. It’s about having someone who knows what matters to you, understands where you’re headed, and can help you make decisions with the whole picture in mind.

Because at the end of the day, the plan is about your life. And as your life evolves, you deserve a financial relationship that evolves with you.

How do you feel when you think about your money?

If you're building a business, leading a team, managing a household, or doing all three, your financial plan should reflect the life you are actually living.

Jessica Searcy Kmetty's blog focuses on financial planning for women who lead, including how to think through personal savings while growing a business, plan for risk, and invest with clarity instead of guesswork.
