The Ottumwa Leadership Academy Class of 2024 is excited to announce its class project: Love Where You Live. The celebration will be Friday May 10th and Saturday, May 11th as a way to recognize the 180th anniversary of Ottumwa being the Wapello County seat.
This event will feature activities, live music, and food trucks for the entire family. There will be opportunities to connect with neighbors and friends to take a walk together, eat together, & celebrate together as a community.
“Our Academy class aims to leave an impact by commemorating both our class’ and community’s pride of Ottumwa by honoring our past and ushering in the future,” stated Michelle Stockwell, O.L.A participant.
Dave Eaton, O.L.A. participant added, “When we commemorate special occasions, we are connecting with our humanity and sharing with a community that calls Ottumwa home - those of the past, the present, and into the future.”
The Ottumwa Leadership Academy is a fun, educational, and rewarding experience that is designed to meet our community’s needs for active and future involvement of informed and dedicated community leaders. We believe a truly diverse and inclusive environment provides every member of our community the opportunity to develop effective leadership. O.L.A. strives to Educate, Equip, Encourage & Engage participants in civic and community service and leadership.

This Thursday! Ottumwa Job Corps is hosting its 2nd Annual Trade Expo on November 30, 2023 from 8am-11:30am.

Partnerships between Job Corps and Communities benefit both students and employers. This collaboration between local, regional and national employers will provide students with the right information, connections and opportunities to pursue their dream careers in various fields and industries.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Together we can continue to build America’s next generation of workers and inspire students and graduates to work toward their bright futures.

We are always looking to partner with industry leaders who need skilled workers ready to work hard and learn on the job.
