Trying to pull your numbers together right now?

Quick reality check — if your books aren’t clean, your tax return isn’t accurate.

And that usually means you’re either overpaying or missing things.

This is exactly what I help business owners fix every day.

If you’re unsure about your numbers, let’s take a look before you file.

Trades owners — quick reality check.

Most profit issues I see aren’t from lack of work. They’re from lack of structure.

No job costing.
Guessing on labor margins.
Mixing personal and business.
Falling behind on taxes.
Not reviewing numbers monthly.

If you’re doing over $300k and still “estimating” your profit, that’s usually where things start slipping.

You don’t need more jobs.
You need better visibility.

If you want a quick breakdown of what I look at first, message me “TRADES” and I’ll send it over.

Most trade businesses don’t have a revenue problem.

They have a structure problem.

I worked with an HVAC company doing over $1M a year that hadn’t filed taxes in years — not because they weren’t making money, but because they didn’t trust their books.

Duplicate transactions.
Miscategorizations.
Missing income.
No job-level visibility.

When you don’t trust your numbers, you avoid them.

And when you avoid them, decisions get delayed — hiring, pricing, tax planning, growth.

This usually starts when a trade business crosses $300k–$400k and the bookkeeping setup never evolves with the business.

Revenue increases.
Complexity increases.
But structure stays the same.

If you run HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or another service-based trade and aren’t fully confident in your reporting, I offer a complimentary 15-minute Trade Financial Review.

Message me “TRADE” and I’ll send the details.

Trade business owners — quick real story.

I worked with an HVAC company doing over $1M a year with a small crew.

Very good at what he did. Booked out consistently. Solid reputation.

But he hadn’t filed taxes in 4 years.

Not because he wasn’t making money.

Because he didn’t trust his books.

There were duplicate transactions, miscategorizations, missing income entries, and no job-level visibility. He didn’t know his true margins. He didn’t know what he actually owed in taxes. So every year, he pushed it off.

When you don’t trust your numbers, you avoid them.

This usually starts when a trade business crosses $300k–$400k and the bookkeeping setup never evolves with the business. Revenue increases. Complexity increases. But structure stays the same.

By the time you hit $1M, that gap becomes expensive.

Once we cleaned everything up and structured proper reporting, he could finally see job profitability clearly and plan for taxes with confidence.

Being busy isn’t the same as being structured.

If you’re running a trade business and aren’t fully confident in your numbers, I’m offering a complimentary 15-minute Trade Financial Review. Message me “TRADE” and I’ll send you the details.

Most contractors don’t have a tax problem.

They have a structure problem.

I see construction, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical businesses switch to an S-Corp at the wrong time all the time.

Too early → unnecessary payroll + admin.
Too late → overpaying in self-employment tax.

It’s not about revenue.
It’s about net profit, margins, and salary strategy.

If you’re in the trades and wondering whether an S-Corp actually makes sense for your numbers, schedule a free 15-minute call.

We’ll run through what I’d look at first.

I’ve noticed something working with trade businesses.

Owners are usually focused on keeping crews busy, landing the next job, and managing the day-to-day.

Financial structure tends to get attention later.

The problem is, by the time you feel it, you’ve already left margin on the table.

If you want a second set of eyes on your numbers and whether job costing should already be in place, I’m offering a free 15-minute review for local trade owners.

Send me a message and we’ll talk it through.

As a CPA, I regularly see small business owners miss deductions that could have saved them thousands.

This free Tax Deduction Checklist covers 10 areas that are commonly overlooked.

It’s simple, practical, and worth reviewing before year-end.

Comment “CHECKLIST” and I’ll send you the guide.

Quick question…

When was the last time your accountant reviewed your books with you?

Not just filed a return.
Not just reconciled accounts.

Actually reviewed your numbers.
Talked strategy.
Explained your reports in plain English.

You should never feel confused looking at your own financials.

Good bookkeeping + proactive tax planning = fewer surprises and better decisions.

If you want an accountant who actually walks you through your numbers, send me a message.

Very thorough. Quick communication. No stones unturned.

That’s not luck — it’s intentional.

When bookkeeping, tax prep, and tax planning are handled by the same CPA, things get cleaner, clearer, and more strategic.

If you’re scaling your business and want your numbers handled right, message me “GROWTH” and let’s set up a consult.

Most business owners aren’t wrong — just incomplete.

An LLC is a legal structure, but the IRS looks at how your business is taxed, not what it’s called. And that distinction matters a lot when it comes to taxes and planning.

This is one of the first things I clarify with new clients.

Save this for later or share it with a business owner who says “I have an LLC” 😄
