If you want a large refund each year then pay the appropriate taxes in federal all through out the year. You can’t claim exempt and then expect a large tax refund.
Just because you have dependents that does not mean you will qualify for the maximum EIC (earned income credit). EIC is based on a variety of factors but mainly your AGI (adjusted gross income). If you’re a high earner you won’t qualify for the maximum EIC.
A moral tax preparer will assist you with claiming all the credits you qualify for and not just claim every credit that exists. Audits are not fun and most of us refuse to play with the IRS. So please be kind and be patient with your tax preparer.
