Check out Victoria Kirilloff's advice on what to do if you win the lottery!

We all know the odds of winning the lottery are incredibly slim, but what happens when your ticket matches all six numbers. It's a life changing moment that should not change who you are.

Did you know that emotions can positively impact our spending habits? For example, when we are feeling happy or excited, we may be more willing to treat ourselves to something special.

Last year, I bought an Audi A3. It was one of three cars on the lot that wasn't hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I recently took it in to get serviced, and they sent me out a loaner vehicle -an Audi A5 Sportback. It made my life so much easier and it was EXACTLY the car that I was originally looking for.

The car dealer was manipulating my emotions and giving me something that they knew I wanted before. They tried to negotiate, but when I was running the actual math, I realized that it wasn't a good deal - it didn’t make financial sense.

I had to work hard to not engage in emotional spending and do what “felt” right. I ended up staying with my Audi A3.

This was an exercise for me to practice what I preached. I had to check in with my financial feelings and work through them so I could make a sound logical decision in the end.

With the money I was going to use to buy the A5, I'm reinvesting it into my company and doing something that is worth value to my future!

It's important to balance indulging in our emotions and being responsible with our finances.

While it's okay to treat ourselves once in a while, we also need to make sure we're not overspending or going into debt just because we're feeling good.

Are you indulging in your emotions or being responsible with your finances? Tell me in the comments below!

Papa was one in a billion. Not only did he teach me the tradecraft he mastered at CIA, but he also imparted his knowledge of business building and product invention to me.

Being his daughter gave me a unique perspective on the world and showed me that I was capable of anything.

Recently I have been building a Divorce Planning Kit, a series of 8 tools to help streamline the divorce process,  and am nearing the launch date. But it is bittersweet.

The tears often pour down my cheeks as I burn the midnight oil bringing my ideas to life. I can’t help but miss my father.

The last time I was involved in inventing a product, I worked for Victor Engineering under the tutelage of Big Papa Bear- BPB as he was affectionately known.

He lived for innovation and was filled with incandescent creative energy that was burned so bright that even I couldn’t keep up with him.

Papa would wake up in the middle of the night with an idea and know exactly what we needed to do to bring the product to market.  He knew how to make something out of nothing and we always had fun doing it.

As I near the completion of my own invention journey, I can’t help but wonder what he would say; I have found myself waiting to hear his gentle yet authoritative voice instructing me on my next steps.

Our time together was cut short and I am left only with the memories of us playing around in the machine shop, prototyping a new product. Papa knew that he wouldn’t be around as long as he would have liked so he made sure to make the most out of the time we did have. Everything was a learning opportunity.

I am proud to be able to use the knowledge he handed down to me to build my own product. I am standing on the shoulders of a giant- rather, an eight-hundred-pound Russian gorilla as he liked to refer to himself.

While Papa is not here to see the process, he is in my heart and his words continue to guide me. With each passing day, my love and respect for him only grows. I will forever be a Daddy’s girl.

Did you know that the health of your vagus nerve can impact your relationship with money?

The vagal nerve is responsible for regulating our body's "rest and digest" and “fight, flight, or freeze” response. When this nerve is stimulated, it signals to our body that we are safe and can relax. But when it's not functioning properly, it can cause us to feel anxious and stressed, which can lead to poor financial decision-making.

If our vagus nerve is functioning well, we're more likely to be able to resist impulsive purchases and stick to a budget.

If it's not functioning properly, we feel overwhelmed by stress and turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms, like overspending or ignoring our financial problems altogether.

By taking care of your vagus nerve, you might find yourself making better money choices as a result.

Have you ever gone on a shopping spree to cheer yourself up after a tough day? Or splurged on a luxury item because you felt like you deserved it? Our emotions can have a powerful impact on our spending habits.

I recently walked into a Kate Spade and my eye was immediately drawn to a gorgeous green purse. I thought I needed it because I didn’t have anything like it in my closet yet. I wasn’t even in love with the structure of the bag, but I bought it anyway. I justified the purchase by saying I would return it if I didn’t use it within the next two weeks.

Low and behold, I didn’t use the bag, but I kept it anyway, then went back for another green bag that was almost the same but slightly different. Can you relate?! 🥴

Looking back, I realize that my emotions were clouding my judgment, and I probably could have found a healthier way to deal with my feelings.

Studies have shown that people are more likely to overspend when they are feeling sad, anxious, or stressed.

When we are in a negative emotional state, we tend to be more impulsive and less rational. That's why it's important to be mindful of our emotions and how they affect our spending habits.

If you need help managing a budget and finding ways to resist emotional spending, send us a DM! We can help!
