This is where a lot of people get confused.

You can have a 680, 700, even 720 and still get denied because lenders may also look at what’s actually ON your credit profile.

Things like:

• High credit card balances
• Recent late payments
• Collections or charge-offs
• Too many recent inquiries
• Short credit history
• New accounts opened too quickly
• High overall debt

That’s why I tell people: stop obsessing over the number and start understanding the REPORT.

A stronger credit profile can put you in a better position when it’s time for the house, car, apartment, higher limits, or business funding.
