It was great to be part of the Newcomers (CIE) at Nehelani Ballroom, Schofield, alongside Ellie. This event brought together valuable resources and information for newcomers, including updates on installation and community and local support organizations. Events like these are a great reminder of the importance of community connections and ensuring military families have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Join the Schofield Barracks Arts & Crafts Center and Creative Engagement with the Arts for a free, hands-on workshop where you can create your own coconut-leaf hat.

This workshop is open to Active Duty, DoD ID cardholders, and guests ages 10 and older. Participants under age 15 must be accompanied by an adult. DFMWR employees are not eligible.

National Mentoring Day is a celebration of mentoring and a time to recognize the people who guide, inspire, and support us throughout our lives. It highlights the positive impact mentors have on both personal and professional development while encouraging people from all backgrounds and industries to take part in mentoring others. Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to have incredible mentors who provided guidance, wisdom, and support during my Marine Corps career and continue to influence me today. I have also learned that mentors can come in many forms, including books, which offer valuable lessons and perspectives when a personal mentor may not be available. Being involved in events and supporting others has taught me that mentorship comes in different ways throughout life. We learn from those who guide us, and in turn, we gain the knowledge and experience to help teach and encourage others.

🌴 My commute has officially gotten a little more tropical.

We've made it to Hawaii and are settling in. The boxes are mostly unpacked, the coffee maker survived the trip, and I'm slowly learning that "island time" is a real thing.

For our clients wondering what this means, don't worry. Wendy and the rest of our amazing support team are still around helping things run smoothly.

The office view may have changed, but the team taking care of you hasn't.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some very important research to do on Hawaiian food.

🌅 Tonight's sunset hit a little differently.

Moving to Hawaii has been exciting, but moments like this make me especially grateful for the journey that brought us here.

Leaving Oceanside wasn't easy. That community gave us incredible friendships, opportunities to serve, and memories we'll never forget.

As we settle into this new chapter, I'm reminded how fortunate we are to stay connected with the people who have trusted us over the years.

The scenery may have changed, but our commitment to serving our clients hasn't.

✈️ Somewhere between California and Hawaii, I found myself reflecting on everything that's happened over the last few years.

The military has taught our family that home isn't always a place. Sometimes it's the people, friendships, and memories you build along the way.

We'll miss Oceanside, but we're excited for the adventures ahead and grateful for everyone who's been part of our journey.

The past few days have been filled with incredible milestones for our family. My daughter, Raven, started school in Hawaii on Friday, and yesterday she rode the school bus for the very first time. Watching her take that next step toward independence was both exciting and emotional for my wife and me.
On Monday, our two youngest boys also started their first days of school here in Hawaii, making this a week we'll never forget.
Moments like these remind us how quickly our children grow and why planning for the future is so important. Change can be challenging, but it's also where growth happens. We're excited to watch all three of our kids embrace new friendships, new experiences, and new adventures on their journey ahead.

Celebrating Sandy Dalo's first anniversary with our team was truly a special moment. On October 20, 2025, Sandy joined our team, and over the past year, she has made a tremendous impact through her dedication, professionalism, and positive attitude. It was my privilege to present Sandy with her one-year pin and recognizes all that she has accomplished during her first year with us. Her hard work, commitment to our clients, and willingness to support the team have contributed greatly to our success. We are incredibly fortunate to have Sandy on our team, and I am grateful for everything she has done. Congratulations on an amazing first year, Sandy. I can't wait to see all that you accomplish in the year ahead!

Wheels up! ✈️ This is really happening.

After years of calling Oceanside home, my family and I are on to Hawaii for our next chapter.

It's exciting, a little bittersweet, and honestly hard to put into words. Oceanside has been more than a place to live and work. It's where we've built friendships, memories, and connections that we'll carry with us wherever we go.

As exciting as this move is, saying goodbye to the people and community that have meant so much to us isn't easy.

Next stop: Hawaii. 🌴
