To anyone who has ever dreamed of having their own business… never stop dreaming. You can do it.

What if your most successful investment eventually became your biggest financial risk?

It happens more often than you might think.

Maybe you've held the same stock for decades. Or perhaps you've accumulated shares in the company you've worked for throughout your career.

Over time, that one investment could grow to represent a significant portion of your wealth.

And while that's certainly a good problem to have, it raises some important questions.

What happens if the stock experiences a major decline? What are the tax consequences of selling? And does holding that much of your wealth in one company still make sense as you approach retirement?

In this week's Client Classroom, John discusses why building wealth and protecting wealth sometimes require different approaches.

Another evening at Yale School of Medicine teaching tomorrow’s doctors how to master their money today (and loving every minute of it!).

You've spent years building your business. When the time finally comes to sell, naturally, you want to get the best possible price.

But what happens after you accept the offer?

A $6 million sale doesn't necessarily mean you'll have $6 million available to fund the next chapter of your life.

Taxes, payment terms, and how the sale is structured can make a significant difference.

In this week's Client Classroom, John talks about something business owners should be thinking about well before they put their business on the market.

Because selling your business isn't just about what someone is willing to pay.

It's also about what that sale will mean for you and your family.

September brought a lot of headlines around interest rates, inflation, oil prices, and the Fed.

And when all of those things are moving at the same time, it can be hard to know what actually matters.

That is exactly what this month’s One Month in One Minute is about.

The Fed raised rates for the first time since 2023, long-term interest rates moved higher, and mortgage rates climbed back above 7%. At the same time, stocks held up better than many people may have expected, but not every part of the market moved the same way.

So, what does that mean for your money?

It means borrowing costs are higher, savers are earning more on cash, and diversification still matters.

At the end of the day, the goal is not to react to every headline. It is to understand what those headlines mean for your overall plan.

Watch this month’s quick recap, and if you have questions, use us as a resource.

Visit the link in my bio to schedule a time to talk about what these changes mean for your money.
