As a reminder, the IRS will no longer issue paper checks for refunds. How you pay any balance due will also change for this upcoming tax filing season.

IR-2025-94, Sept. 23, 2025 — The Internal Revenue Service, working with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, today announced that paper tax refund checks for individual taxpayers will be phased out beginning on Sept. 30, 2025, as required by Executive Order 14247, to the extent permitted by law.

The IRS is cautioning taxpayers about a new scam. Fraudsters are sending cardboard envelopes about "unclaimed refunds" that request your personal information. Don't fall for it! The IRS will never ask for your personal information that way. If you're unsure, call us and we'll help you sort it out.
