BOTH are to be celebrated but let’s jump into this.

What I want you to take away from this post is the difference between Gross Revenue and Net Profit. What your business generates in revenue throughout the entire year won’t necessarily be reflected in your bank account and here’s why – IT TAKES MONEY TO MAKE MONEY!

Gross Revenue is the amount of income (sales) your business generates while your Net Profit is the amount of money your business generates MINUS your operational expenses (inclusive of any cost of goods sold – COGS). So basically what is left over AFTER you subtract your expenses from all the money you made.

Knowing whether you're making money, losing money, or breaking even is vital information every business owner MUST know (not should know but MUST). And the number in your business bank account simply is NOT an accurate reflection of that information.

If your bookkeeping is not in order, click the link in my bio and let’s chat. You’ll need those numbers not only to make sound business decisions but also to save yourself from overpaying in taxes. Know your numbers. Know your business. KNOW YOUR WORTH!

- Are you only recognizing sales based on bank deposits?

- Are you tracking and adjusting your inventory to account for sales, shrinkage, and/or items that aren’t selling well, thus stagnating your cash flow?

Listen, if you don’t know your numbers, then you don’t know your business. And if you don’t know your business, how do you know if you’re truly making money?

Click the link in my bio and schedule a free consult to discuss getting your books in order so you are confident in your numbers and capable of making fiscally responsible decisions within your business.

🗣SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS - Are your books ready for the upcoming tax season?

As a business owner, knowing what the financial position of your company is at all times is essential to your growth and expansion. Where are your leaks (if any)? What can be improved upon or done away with to save money? What can be written off at tax time? What risks and/or investments can you afford to take AND make? Are you in a position to apply or qualify for funding?

If you can’t definitively answer ALL of these questions, let’s have a conversation, ASAP! We are here to serve, so you have the freedom to thrive.

Respectfully 💚,

Anesia Smith, EA
