Want to know if your community can support a concierge practice? Look for a Starbucks.
That was one of my favorite hacks from the Concierge Conference in Atlanta last week.
You can pay for a feasibility study to see if the community around you can afford membership fees. Or you can see that Starbucks already did that study for you. $10 coffee, anyone?
New friends with Spurlock and Nichols, spontaneous dinners with Angelova, and finally meeting the legendary Tetrault of Today in person. It is incredible to see the world he has built.
A few things I’m bringing home:
- Membership fees across the country range from $3,500 to $25,000
- Build annual increases into your agreements
- Consider a scholarship program for some patients
- Claims-made vs. occurrence malpractice coverage is a bigger decision than I realized
- AI scribes are everywhere now, and practices are really using them
One of my favorite hangout moments was with Joyner, CPA and Partner at Moore, where we got to talk all things medical accounting and exchanged ideas on how to boost profit margins.
My favorite keynote line: “It’s not about making people feel bad, it’s about making them feel good.”
I’ve been carrying that into my monthly conversations with clients, thinking more about what it feels like to be on the receiving end of the financials.
How we talk matters.
Thank you to everyone for the memories. See you next year!
