Meet Emily Harrington, EA

This week, we're kicking off our Meet Us Monday series by introducing one of the owners of Harrington & Johnson, Emily Harrington, EA!

🎓 Emily is a proud LSU graduate with a degree in Finance (Geaux Tigers!). After spending two years working in Houston, she joined our firm in 2013 and has been helping clients navigate tax and financial matters ever since. With over 14 years of experience in the industry, Emily brings both expertise and dedication to everything she does.

🧩 One of Emily's favorite parts of her job is helping clients find clarity in their financial picture. She enjoys piecing together financial statements and solving complex tax and accounting challenges—turning numbers into meaningful information that helps clients make confident decisions.

💼 As a business owner herself, Emily understands the challenges and opportunities that come with running a business and is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals.

💪 Outside the office, Emily is a certified Pilates instructor and has been practicing Pilates since college. She loves helping others build strength and confidence, whether in the studio or through her work with clients.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Emily and her husband, Eddie, are proud parents to Alice and Edmund. When she's not at the office, you'll often find her spending time with her family, relaxing on the back porch, cheering on the LSU Tigers, or chasing after their two energetic kittens.

💼 Overtime Pay & Your 2025 Tax Return 💼
If you worked overtime in 2025, make sure we have the right information to report it correctly on your tax return.

When you come in, please bring:
✔️ Your W-2 (overtime is usually included in Box 1 wages)
✔️ Recent pay stubs that clearly show overtime hours and pay
✔️ Any additional income statements if overtime was paid outside of regular payroll

Having complete documentation helps ensure your income is reported accurately and prevents delays or IRS notices later on.

📌 Friendly Reminder for Our Payroll & 1099 Clients

Our deadline to receive all year-end payroll and 1099 information is Monday, January 19.

Please be sure to submit complete information, including:

- Employee and contractor Social Security Numbers or EINs
- Current addresses
- Total amounts paid

When we receive everything by January 19, we can process and file your annual forms within the normal filing timeframe — helping you stay compliant and stress-free.
