The way we present ourselves is one of the biggest challenges in public speaking. In the last Executive Circle, our community highlighted their favorite techniques in showcasing the self:

-Speak to topics you have natural interest about. Your enthusiasm and passion is contagious.
-Practice enough where your authentic self can shine through the performance
-Keep your mission in your mindset and focus on the goal of the presentation: i.e. "I want people to feel hope"
-Share personal stories
-Play your favorite pump up song before addressing your audience!

How do you personally prepare for a presentation?

Public speaking and presenting is an opportunity to connect with a new audience. Our Executive Circle highlighted some best practices on how they remain engaged with their spectators:

-Know the audience and their goals as deeply as you can prior to presenting

-Begin with an activity or question that gets participants involved

-Re-engage every ten minutes with a challenge, break, poll, or image

-Leverage your visuals with limiting the amount of text on your slides

-Pause regularly and allow the audience to digest the context of your topics

What would you add to the list?

This week in Executive Circle we discussed our predictions of a post-pandemic world. By considering the cadence of economic and social events following the Spanish Flu, we explored the similarities we see in today's world and discussed how we foresee future trends and reactions to the COVID-19 era. What ripple effects can we expect to see in the coming years or even decades? What industries will benefit from these circumstances and why? What lasting impacts do you think the pandemic will have on our financial lives?
