I've decided to make this my final tax season. I will be focusing more on bookkeeping, quickbooks training and consulting instead. 13 years of doing tax returns is enough for me lol. So if you are a regular tax client, feel free to send over your documents one last time :) And thank you for the past 13 years! It has been fun!

If you haven’t already seen this, the tax filing deadline has now been moved from April 15th to July 15th! This push from the president will allow accountants like me to have a little more time to focus on homeschooling and staying home right now instead of dragging kids to the office 😁

Let me introduce myself in case you don’t know me yet!

I am a self-employed mom of two. I graduated from URI in 2007 and went on to get my masters from Bryant in 2008 while working in Boston at PricewaterhouseCoopers. I lasted about 2 years there and in July 2009, I officially got my CPA license and took off to work for myself.🤓

I started ULTRAccounting, LLC in October 2009 and quickly became certified in bookkeeping and tax preparation. In January 2010, my dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer and I quickly learned to run the family motel in Narragansett called The Anchor Motel.⚓️

My dad is doing well but cannot run the motel as well as he used to, but as it turns out, I actually love switching back and forth between tax season and motel season. It’s a nice change of pace throughout each year!🌞

My husband runs KSJ Seafood, Inc so when they put up a building in Galilee a few years ago, I got an office with a pretty sweet view!😄🌊

Sooo when tax season rolls around, gather up your documents and come check it out!🤑

Great article simplifying the confusion that is gift tax! Basically no one will ever pay gift tax (unless you are gifting millions) but you may have to fill out an additional form during tax season to note the gift amount.

You only pay the gift tax if you exceed the lifetime exclusion - and that only happens if you exceed the annual exclusion. Confused? Here's how it works.
