We are almost done with the never ending tax season of 2019! The 2020 filing date opens on February 12, 2021. Due to covid we are asking clients to drop off their work unless there has been changes during the 2020 year. If you might be someone who is new this year, we would like to meet with you directly. WASHINGTON —The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers to be on the lookout for a new email phishing scam. The emails appear to be from the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service and include a bogus case number.‬

If you are a legally married same s*x couple and wish to file your Federal Income Tax as single you must file your return by Sept. 15. Otherwise you must file married Joint, or married seperate.

The IRS has released FAQs clarifying the Revenue Ruling released yesterday. The FAQs make it clear that same-s*x married couples must file extended 2012 returns by September 15, 2013, to file as single. The application of yesterday’s Revenue Ruling depends on the tax year in question:
