Amended returns are not quick.

Unlike standard returns, amended returns are processed manually by the IRS. That means:
• Processing can take up to 20 weeks or more
• Refunds (if applicable) take longer to arrive
• Status updates are limited

Patience is key here but filing accurately the first time (and fixing it correctly if needed) is what matters most.
