NCDOR issues update on opening of 2022 tax season
According to an update issued to state legislators on February 14, the NCDOR expects to open the tax season during the week of February 28. The Department indicates taxpayers can expect to begin receiving refunds in early April.

NCDOR staff are working continuously on testing and certification requirements and have made significant progress. Tax preparation software providers are notified by the NCDOR once their software is approved, and some have already received approval. Other products are being approved on a daily basis.
