🚨 NEW PARENTS — STOP SCROLLING FOR A MINUTE! 🚨

I know you’re exhausted. You have a newborn. You’re feeding, changing diapers, trying to sleep whenever you can… and probably wondering what day it is. šŸ˜‚

But this is one thing you don’t want to miss.

The U.S. government has automatically set up a Trump Account for my granddaughter, who was born this year.

And judging by her expression, she is VERY excited about her new investment account. šŸ˜‚šŸ‘‡

But here’s the important part:

šŸ’° Eligible children born in 2025–2028 can receive a $1,000 contribution from the U.S. Treasury.

Your child needs to be a U.S. citizen with a valid Social Security number, and you need to claim the account for your child to receive the $1,000 contribution.

And this is where it gets really interesting…

That $1,000 gets invested and has the potential to grow for your child until they reach adulthood.

For example, if that $1,000 grew at an average 10% annually and you never added another penny, it could grow to about $5,560 by age 18.

And you don't have to stop there.

Parents, grandparents, employers and others may be able to contribute to the account, subject to the applicable rules and limits.

šŸ‘¶ So, Mom and Dad…

Between the feedings, diapers and cuddles, take 5–10 minutes and make sure you claim your baby's account.

And grandparents…

šŸ‘€ Grandma and Grandpa, this is your cue to pay attention!

Imagine giving your grandchild a head start on their financial future before they can even walk. ā¤ļø

šŸ‘‰ Get the official information and claim your child's Trump Account at TrumpAccounts.gov

And please—use the official government site rather than clicking on a random link someone sends you. There are already scam warnings surrounding the program.

Your baby may not understand compound growth yet… but someday, they might thank you for starting early. ā¤ļø

Your Business Should Work for You

Here's something I want every business owner to think about:

What do you actually want your business to do for you?

Maybe it's to provide a good income.

Maybe it's to give your family more financial security.

Maybe it's to create jobs.

Maybe it's to serve your community.

Maybe it's to give you flexibility.

Maybe it's eventually to provide enough income and wealth that you can retire when you're ready.

There isn't one right answer.

But if you don't know what you want the business to provide, it's difficult to know whether the business is actually succeeding.

Revenue isn't the only measure of success.

Growth isn't the only measure of success.

The question is:

Is the business becoming what you want it to be?

Understanding your numbers can help you answer that question.

Take a few minutes this week to write down what you actually want your business to provide for you and your family.

Then ask yourself:

Do my numbers support that vision?

What Does ā€œFinancial Accountabilityā€ Mean?

The word accountability can sound a little intimidating.

But that's not how I think about it.

Financial accountability isn't about someone looking over your shoulder and asking:

ā€œWhy did you spend that?ā€

It's about having someone beside you who can ask:

ā€œWhat are you trying to accomplish, and do the numbers support that?ā€

Maybe you want to hire your first employee.

Maybe you want to increase your income.

Maybe you want to pay yourself consistently.

Maybe you're trying to decide whether you can afford a new piece of equipment.

Maybe you're wondering if the business is growing in a healthy way.

We can look at the numbers together.

Not to judge them.

Not to make you feel bad.

But to understand them.

Because when you understand what's happening financially, you have more information to make decisions about where you want to go next.

That's financial accountability.

What financial decision are you facing right now that you wish you had more confidence making?

Tell me in the comments.

Are You Running Your Business by Your Bank Balance?

Here's a question worth asking:

Do you know how your business is doing financially—or do you just know how much money is in the bank?

Those are two different things.

You can have money in the bank and not be profitable.

You can be profitable and still have a cash-flow problem.

You can have a great month and still not be able to pay yourself what you need.

And you can have a slow month without your business actually being in trouble.

That's why understanding your financial reports matters.

Your bank balance tells you what is available right now.

Your financial statements can help you understand what is happening over time.

When you learn to look at both, you have much more information to make decisions.

And better information can lead to better decisions.

Take a look at your bank balance and your most recent Profit & Loss statement. Do they tell you the same story?

If not, that may be a good conversation to have with your accountant—or with me.

It's time to register for Groundwork, Foundations for Healthy Finances! It starts Wednesday and it is free! https://secure.money-skills.ca/i/register/kim-eldred

Hope to see you there!

ā¤ļø Moses Lake friends, I’d love to personally invite you to something I’m really excited about.

This fall, I’m partnering with First Baptist Church to offer Groundwork: Foundations for Healthy Finances.

I’ve spent many years helping people with their finances, and one thing I’ve learned is that most people don’t need more shame or complicated financial advice—they just need a place to learn, ask questions, and take one step at a time.

That’s what Groundwork will be for YOU.

For seven Wednesday evenings, we’ll gather together and talk about practical things like needs vs. wants, saving, spending, debt, generosity, and building a healthy financial foundation.

🌱 September 30–November 11
šŸ“… Wednesdays
ā° 6:00–7:30 PM
šŸ“ First Baptist Church, Moses Lake

And the best part? It’s FREE and open to everyone.

You don’t have to be struggling financially to come. You don’t have to know anything about budgeting. You don’t have to have it all together.

Just come. Come curious. Come ready to learn. Come with a friend.

Register here (so I can get your workbook ready): https://secure.money-skills.ca/i/register/kim-eldred

I would genuinely love to see people from our community around the tables, learning and encouraging one another.

If you’ve been thinking, ā€œI really should do something about my finances,ā€ maybe this is your opportunity to start. ā¤ļø

I hope you’ll join us for Groundwork.
