Time for a mid-year tax withholding update......
Did you adjust your federal withholding after the federal tax reform was passed? If not, it would be a good idea to use the tax calculator the IRS published to make sure you are having enough taxes withheld at your W2 job. Surprises on Tax Day are not fun!

The Calculator helps you identify your tax withholding to make sure you have the right amount of tax withheld from your paycheck at work.

Big changes have taken place at Hastings & Knowlton CPAs!

You may wonder why our page has been so quiet? We have been busy opening a new office location in Montgomery, TX.

Staci's husband has been relocated to The Woodlands (north of Houston) for work. This move has enabled us to expand our practice and open a new location!

Since Joan and her husband are hoping to spend more time traveling in the upcoming years, our main office will now be located with Staci in Montgomery, TX. Joan's office in Mansfield will be our secondary location.

We are thankful for the luxury of technology that will allow Staci to continue to work with clients in Mansfield, Montgomery, and clients across the nation.

As you are signing your kids up for summer day camps, be sure to obtain tax ID numbers from camp administrators. While overnight camps are not deductible, day camps can be deducted as a dependent care expense!

After the IRS’s Modernized e-File and Direct Pay systems were not in operation for most of the day on Tuesday, the IRS extended the filing and payment deadline for 2017 individual tax returns until midnight on Wednesday, April 18.
