*Should be comfortable interacting directly with individual and small business clients, as well as answering questions from junior staff regarding all aspects of accounting
*Must have a strong grasp of GAAP, and be proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Intuit Pro Series Tax Software

Our motto: Work hard, play hard! Our team buckles down during tax season, putting in an average of 50 hours of intense work. But, we make up for that, outside of tax season, by taking off early many Fridays and trying to fit in a little fun at the office. When the work is done, we all go HOME!

HIRING STAFF ACCOUNTANT. Small, locally owned CPA firm in West Mobile/Cottage Hill area seeking experienced accountant for an immediate open position. Ideal candidate will be an organized and efficient self-starter, with a positive outlook and sense of integrity, who enjoys working as a team in a casual atmosphere. Candidate must have an accounting degree and ideally 1-3 years experience preparing tax returns. CPA or CPA candidates preferred.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Collect information needed to complete tax forms for individuals and businesses in a timely manner

Research tax issues as requested

Contact tax authorities as needed on behalf of clients

Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings

Research the basis for tax positions to be taken and present to management
