🚨 Taxpayers Stop Scrolling 🚨
This is an important update.
This is where the IRS tells you that your refund has been offset.
If your status says “Refund Approved” but you see this message about it possibly being reduced — here’s what that means 👇
The IRS is letting you know your refund may be offset to pay:
✔️ Past-due child support
✔️ Federal agency debt
✔️ State income tax debt
✔️ Certain unemployment debts
If this happens, the Bureau of Fiscal Service (BFS) — NOT your tax preparer — will send you a separate notice explaining:
• How much was taken
• Who received the payment
• Who to contact
⚠️ Important: The IRS does NOT control offsets once they are applied. This is outside of the tax office’s authority.
💡 If your deposit does not hit by the date shown, check:
• Your bank (pending deposits)
• IRS2Go app
• Where’s My Refund
Remember — “Approved” means the IRS processed it. It does NOT always mean the full amount will be deposited.
We educate. We inform. We prepare.
That’s the Xpert difference. 💚
