Last night I was watching a rerun of The Big Bang Theory and decided to check on something that I had checked previously in the day as I knew we were getting close ...

Yep, only a couple million shy of $37 trillion in debt. It only took a few seconds to actually eclipse that number, that's how quickly we dig our own grave. At 9:07 p.m. Eastern time we hit that number.

This kind of thing used to be news but seeing as how we rack up another trillion every 6 months nobody pays attention anymore except for dorks like me.

With numbers like these and an expected $60 trillion of debt by 2035 and Social Security's trust fund running out in 2034, and with today's historically low tax rates, which direction do you think tax rates are going to go in the future? It'll be like Superman ... Up, up, and away!

If you're at The Waffle House, you can hardly go wrong with anything you get there.

The "Council of Wise Old Men" are a group of friends who meet at Waffle Houses (and McD's, CFA, Hardee's) and talk politics, talk about their wives, the weather and are generally solving all of the world's problems over coffee. Listen to them and you could be making a cataclysmic mistake.

If you're married, there are over 9,000 -- yes, nine thousand! -- possible claiming combinations for Social Security, one of many reasons that ...

"Social Security is about as complicated a fiscal system as is humanly possible to design", according to Professor of Economics Laurence Kotlikoff of Boston University.
