HEADS UP: TurboTax is not part of the IRS Free File program anymore!

They still offer free taxes but only for people with the simplest tax situations. Basically, if your tax return was more than just a few pages, it’s likely that TurboTax will charge you this year.

They say I shouldn’t tell you this, but there are other places you can go to file your taxes for free, if you meet certain criteria.

Why would I share that info and lose potential clients?! 😱

Because I know that not everyone needs help to prepare their taxes, and that’s OK!

I just want to make sure no one starts doing their taxes thinking it will be free, only to be unpleasantly surprised to learn they have to pay to file! 😡

Have you received a letter (or two!) from the IRS about the advanced child tax credit payments you received last year?

This is Letter 6419 (you can find this number on the bottom right corner of your letter).

You will need this information to file your taxes this year, so make sure to add it to your tax file.

If you get two letters (one for you and one for your spouse), make sure to save them both - it's not a duplicate!
