Now we have some news on the FILING deadline being extended. Still waiting on official word from the IRS and guidance on how estimated payments, extensions, etc. will be handled and their deadlines.

The U.S. will extend the individual tax filing deadline until July 15 from April 15, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said.

The headline is misleading!!!

For those who may owe for the 2019 filing season, the IRS is giving a break. Extending any payments due until July 15 due to the current situation with COVID-19.

They have NOT, for now, changed the filing deadline from April 15. We will continue to watch for updates on any possible extension on the filing date and keep you updated.

Please don't wait til the last minute in case an extension doesn't happen. Call, message or email to discuss your filing needs.

The IRS and Maryland are set for the start of filing season next Monday, January 27.

Many that already know about our baby girls arrival have asked if I would be doing returns this year. The answer is yes, what better way to get her started in learning the biz than when she'll be a few weeks old. I apologize for the late start but I've been going almost every free minute I've had on remodeling the nursery and getting it finished on time.

IR-2020-02, January 6, 2020 — The Internal Revenue Service confirmed that the nation’s tax season will start for individual tax return filers on Monday, January 27, 2020, when the tax agency will begin accepting and processing 2019 tax year returns.

Please spread the word about this. The IRS will never make first contact over the phone with you regarding matters of this nature. They are preying on people's fear. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!

If the IRS needs to contact you for any matter regarding your taxes, they will do so by mail.

I have officially passed the tax preparers exam required by the State of MD and am now licensed to complete tax returns. I have also just completed all of the IRS requirements to e-file returns! Please keep me in mind for the upcoming 2017 tax filing season!!!

We are now a partner with Xero accounting software as another option for our bookkeeping clients. We will be working on certifications in the coming weeks to be trained on this great system. As with QBO, Xero is an online Web based accounting system which we think offers some great benefits to our clients who are field based such as contractors, electricians, plumbers, etc.
