We're excited to welcome A. Romero, CIA, CRM, to Kaufman Rossin as a Principal in our Risk Advisory Services practice.

Adrian brings deep expertise in enterprise risk management, internal audit, and compliance, having most recently advanced to Director at a top-five national professional services firm. He has partnered with mid-size and large global organizations across consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, real estate, and technology — helping them strengthen governance, maximize the value of their internal audit programs, and reduce the cost of compliance.

Beyond his client work, Adrian is an active leader in the profession and community. He currently serves as President of the Miami Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) — one of the youngest to hold the role — and was recognized as an Emerging Leader by Internal Auditor Magazine, one of only 15 selected globally.

In a recent Crain Currency feature, Todd Kesterson shares insights on the growing trend of family offices bringing in non-family executives to professionalize their operations and strengthen governance.

The data tells the story: family offices with 11 or more employees are nearly twice as likely to employ non-family executives as their smaller counterparts. But successful integration goes beyond technical skill—it depends on a clear mandate, cultural fit with family values, structured onboarding, and compensation tied to performance.
