Tax Season Update:
The child tax credit has been reduced back to $2000. You cannot claim a stimulus credit that you never received on your 2022 return. You must have had at least $3000 worth of earned income to receive the child tax credit. We can no longer use your 2019 income to calculate the earned income credit. So basically if you did not work or collect unemployment you will not get a refund. The most you can get would be the education credit if you were a student. The Path Act is still permanently in place, where returns with dependents will be held and won’t be processed until Mid February. The IRS has already started accepting live tax returns, so as soon as you have your W2 and any other necessary tax documents such as 1099’s and 1095A’s we can file your return. We still have the $6000 Prefund Loans available for those who qualify
