Did you get a direct deposit from the IRS this morning? No you didn't hit the IRS jackpot for having kids. Unlike the "stimulus" checks, this is actually just an advance on your 2021 Child Tax credit. You are able to unenroll from payments through the IRS website and may want to consider doing so depending on your 2021 tax situation. A little extra cash now may be helpful, but do you understand how it will effect you when you file taxes next year?
