Heads up for my clients and business owners!

There are new “no tax on tips” rules coming for 2026, and not everyone who receives tips will qualify. The IRS has released an official list of occupations that are eligible, so it’s important to understand how this may (or may not) apply to you.

If you or your employees earn tips, this is something we’ll want to review carefully to make sure everything is being handled correctly and expectations are clear.

Here’s the full IRS update with the qualifying occupations:

If you have questions about how this impacts your business, feel free to reach out—happy to walk through it with you.

Big changes to meal deductions are here for 2026.

Most everyday business meals—like team lunches and office snacks—are no longer deductible. Only certain meals still qualify, and documentation is more important than ever.

Take a look at the graphic for a quick breakdown, and make sure you’re keeping good records for anything you plan to deduct.

If your bookkeeping feels overwhelming… you’re not alone.

Most business owners don’t struggle because they’re bad at numbers—
they struggle because they were never taught what matters.

Here’s what actually matters:
✔️ Are your books up to date?
✔️ Do you know your monthly profit?
✔️ Can you make decisions confidently?

If the answer is no, it’s not a failure—it’s just time for support.

✨ That’s exactly what I help with.

It’s Tax Day!

If you’ve already filed, great work getting it done. If you’re filing today or on extension, take a moment to make sure everything is accurate and complete.

How did tax prep go for you this year?

This is also a good time to start thinking ahead. The best tax strategies happen during the year, not at the deadline.

If you have questions or want to be more proactive going forward, I’m here to help.

If your books are behind, messy, or just confusing…

You don’t need to feel embarrassed.
You need a plan.

My diagnostic review shows you:
✔️ What’s wrong
✔️ What’s missing
✔️ What to fix first

🌸 Clarity starts here.

“What’s in my bank account” is NOT my profit?

I see this all the time.

Your bank balance doesn’t account for:
– Taxes owed
– Upcoming expenses
– Credit card balances
– Payroll obligations
- Unpaid bills
- Uncashed checks

Your books tell the real story.

🌸 Clarity > guessing

Tax season is stressful… but your books don’t have to be.

If your accountant is asking questions like:
“Why doesn’t this match?”
“Where did this come from?”

👉 That’s a bookkeeping issue—not a tax issue.

Clean books = smoother tax season.

✨ Tax season doesn’t have to feel chaotic ✨

I loved this breakdown from The Assist’s newsletter (written by Thania), and had to share a few takeaways with you:

👉 Stress-free tax season comes down to preparation + good systems

Whether you’re:
• W-2 only → it’s organization
• W-2 + side hustle → it’s strategy
• Full entrepreneur → it’s systems + planning

💡 A few reminders that stood out:
✔️ Separate business & personal expenses
✔️ Track mileage, subscriptions, and payments
✔️ Check ALL platforms (Venmo, Stripe, PayPal)
✔️ Clean it up now—it’s not too late

And this one 👇
“Taxes are less about paperwork and more about systems.”

YES. 👏

If you’re self-employed, clean books are no longer optional—especially with increased IRS reporting and stricter enforcement.

🌸 My take as a bookkeeper:
The more organized you are throughout the year, the less stressful April becomes.

If your books feel messy or unclear, this is your sign to get ahead of it now 💛

As women business owners, we don’t build businesses just to work harder — we build them for freedom, flexibility, and impact.

But here’s the truth: you can’t grow what you’re not paying attention to.

Your Profit & Loss report is more than numbers on a page. It’s a reflection of your decisions, your priorities, and your growth.
If expenses have been feeling heavier lately, this is where we gently look.

Here’s how:
• Run a Profit & Loss Comparison or Profit & Loss by Month report
• Choose your date range and accounting method
• Compare to the previous period or the same time last year
• Review both the dollar and percentage changes

Those percentage shifts tell a story.

You may notice:
– Subscriptions you’ve outgrown
– Software that no longer serves you
– Expenses that don’t align with your current season
– Spending increases that deserve a strategic decision

When you review your P&L each month, you step into the role of CEO — not just business owner.

Clarity reduces stress.

Awareness builds confidence.

Intentional decisions create freedom.

You deserve to understand your numbers. And when you do, your business doesn’t just survive — it blooms.
