The IRS just bought Tennessee taxpayers some time.

If you were impacted by Winter Storm Fern, your filing AND payment deadline has been pushed to May 22, 2026.

That’s not just paperwork, that’s real breathing room.

But here’s what most people miss
Not everyone is automatically covered, and not every situation is straightforward.

If you live, work, or run a business in one of the affected counties, you may qualify without doing anything.
