Social Security Timeline
A new analysis from the Penn Wharton Budget Model released on June 11, 2026 suggests Social Security's retirement trust fund could remain solvent until February 2033, slightly later than the Social Security Administration's recent projection of late 2032.
While the updated forecast provides a bit more time, researchers note that significant changes may still be needed to address the program's long-term funding gap.
