Are you seeking investment opportunities with minimized risk? Consider investments that consistently yield positive returns, akin to a staircase, gradually increasing in value without market volatility risks. These investments offer no market risk, transparent fee structures, death benefits, and premium enhancements for home health needs. As you approach or are in retirement, can you afford to withstand market losses? Weigh the options: earning 15 percent with fees versus earning 10 percent with no fees, advisory fees, or management fees. If you're intrigued by potential benefits of such investments, let's discuss further. Please refrain from posting derogatory comments, as our goal is to provide helpful advice.

Tax changes on “no tax on OT”. It is only on the “premium pay”. For example : time and a half pay for over 40 hours a week: the part that would not be taxable is the 1/2 time. Also, some Companies pay double time to work on a Holiday. That would result in the extra “double time” to be non-taxable.

Further more: I have been “thinking outside the box on this” and I am aware of some first responders, that because of the way the shift rotations work, have been, for years, working a 49 hour (approximate) automatic OT every second or third paycheck. I believe this type of OT pay, because of shift work, would qualify as well.

Now, there is an overall “limit on no tax on OT” that you need to consider.

However, many workers, especially shift workers, have some OT that would apply. I DO NOT SEE where the Human Resources Department of some of the shift workers have EVEN considered this “buried overtime” that has been occurring for years.

My recommendation for these types of shift workers, especially fireman, can figure this out by obtaining and looking at the last paycheck detail of the 2025 year. I am aware of some putting an extra code in box 14 of your W2. But, I don’t see it ALL on THERE. Which leads me to believe, that the automatic OT on the shift work was not considered when completing the W2.

Here we go!

Just days after the start of the 2026 tax filing season, a looming government shutdown could disrupt IRS funding starting this Saturday.

Should Congress fail to pass the currently-proposed funding package by midnight on Friday, the country would see a partial shutdown kick in.

Refunds will be coming late agai n for some people! See below!!!!
