Good Morning and Happy Monday!
People often ask me how I got introduced to the financial planning profession and Northwestern Mutual. The honest answer? It started with a conversation at the right place and the right time with my now colleague and friend, Jake Umbreit.
During my second full year of teaching elementary students, Jake reached out for a quick introduction. As we met, our conversation naturally shifted to my goals, what I wanted my future to look like, and the impact I hoped to make.
During that conversation, he asked a simple question:
"Would you be open to an introduction to learn more about the career?"
That question ultimately put me on the path I'm on today.
After multiple conversations, I realized that Northwestern Mutual was the right fit for me. It wasn't just about a career change. It was about surrounding myself with like-minded people who challenge me to think bigger, grow personally and professionally, and create opportunities for the people I care about most.
Fast-forward to today, I recently celebrated my two-year anniversary as a financial advisor. Looking back, I honestly can't imagine what my life would look like had I not been open-minded enough to have that first conversation.
It's a simple reminder that the opportunities that shape our lives don't always begin with a detailed plan. Sometimes they start with a conversation, a willingness to be curious, and an openness to explore what's possible.
If you're curious about the journey, the work we do, or what it's been like being a career changer, I'd be happy to share my experience and connect.
