I wanted to be a person who helps people. As an accountant/tax preparer, I can help businesses and people save money by understanding the tax code thoroughly. It is an amazing feeling when people are happy with your service.
I started this company from scratch and has been challenging at times. My client base grows every year and I appreciate all my clients for giving me the opportunity to guide them through tax season. I love 90% of what I do, and honestly the 10% I end up laughing at the next day. Accounting has new challenges each and everyday and why I was interested in the field. No day is ever the same, and I love how each client is unique in their own special way. Every return is a puzzle, and has no easy answer.
Since I went in to accounting, I have always made sure to keep things interesting and constantly strive for knowledge and education. I try and learn something new every day and challenge myself, which tax allows for. I am on the final mile of my accounting journey (to take my CPA exam) which I will be finishing at Lakeland University along with my MBA in Accounting. Although the accounting field is always changing and why you need to be a lifelong learner, devoted to adapting to new laws on the fly. That is what the MBA is all about, it is a conscious decision that a person makes to develop themselves for lifetime learning. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 8.9% of Americans achieved a Masters or higher to include professional degrees. I have always been a unique person studying everything from history, music, data science/coding, of course accounting, but I am also interested in the unknown.
